Eric Blanckaert is a French cinematographer born in 1976. Throughout his career, he worked on a variety of projects and created a strong bond with many directors.

Juste Ciel ! , his first feature film as a director of photography will be released on the 15th of February. Directed by Laurent Tirard, the French comedy is about five nuns who set their sights on winning the cash prize of a major cycling race to raise money to renovate a dilapidated hospice. The only hitch is that none of them can ride a bicycle. Produced by Les Films Sur Mesure and starring Valérie Bonneton, Camille Chamois, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Claire Nadeau and Guilaine Londez.

Classico, a TV film written and directed by Nathanaël Guedj and Adrien Piquet-Gauthier, was released on Amazon Prime Video on the 28th of October 2022. It's a comedy about the eternal rivalry between the two French football teams Paris Saint Germain and Olympique Marseille.
Produced by Federation Entertainment, starring Ahmed Scylla, Alice Belaïdi and Hakim Jemili, it is Eric's second collaboration with Nathanaël Guedj after the TV movie that came out in 2019, Si Tu Vois Ma Mère.
 

Eric worked with some great commercial directors and photographers like Julien & Quentin, Valentin Petit, Marcel Hartmann, Ross Richardson, and Laura Bonnefous. 

Meeting the director Neels Castillon was a turning point in Eric's career. They've since developed a strong collaboration that allows them to express a certain visual style. They worked on multiple commercial projects during the past few years, including Louis Vuitton's famous campaign Towards a Dream as well as their latest film Our Committed Journey.
The duo also collaborated on a few music videos, where choreography and dance are often essential.
 

The director's latest personal project, the short film Whale's Song, was cinematographed by Eric Blanckaert a few months ago and will begin its festival journey in the near future.

Another talented director Eric works with quite often is Julien Vallon. The latter's work, centered around bodies and movement, found a great match with Eric's cinematography.

Eric left his mark on the multi-awarded dance experimental film Cor directed by Simona Gun. The bold choreography was created by Mès Lesne, shot in the Canaries in the beautiful volcanic island of Lanzarote, and produced by La Belle Façon.

After acquiring a strong experience as an assistant and then specialising as a Ronin operator, Eric Blanckaert's sensibility and mastery of natural light made him a unique director of photography. The delicate and natural aspects of his images keep attracting directors from various spheres to work with him.
After building an impressive career filming fashion, beauty and lifestyle commercials, Eric is working more and more towards feature films.
