Matt Larson,is an American cinematographer. Raised far from the center of the industry, he bought a camera on credit and started making experimental music videos for his then-band, They. After a course at La Femis through the NY Film Academy, he returned to the US and worked as a camera assistant and operator on feature films and commercials. This opened doors to commercial photography, and in the mid-00s he started his own creative agency. In 2013, Matt moved to Paris, fell in love, returned to cinema and slowly developed his reputation and career as a Director of Photography in France.
Home is a documentary short film for the Wood River Land Trust directed by Sven Hicks and produced by Valley Forge. Nature films require strength, stamina and patience, and Home was no exception. Icy rivers, snow-covered mountains, ghost-like elk and angry moose beset Matt’s solo journey to capture the unspoiled beauty of these remote locations and their inhabitants, cut by the razor-sharp light of dawn and dusk.

In this Kilian Paris Make a Wish commercial, directed by Irina Dakeva and produced by NorthSix, Matt employed a variety of lensing and lighting techniques to bring an imaginary Eiffel Tower restaurant and rooftop to cinematic life.
