We are thrilled to announce that Silent Observers, featuring meticulously captured images by cinematographer Constanze Schmitt, has officially been selected for the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA). Directed by Eliza Petkova and produced by Red Carpet, Wood Water Films, and Cinemanda, the film tells the story of a vanishing Bulgarian village through the perspective of its animals, capturing rich sensory details and the villagers’ superstitions. The animals’ simple, sensory lives stand in contrast to the villagers’ beliefs, adding depth to this exploration of fading traditions, accompanied by haunting music.
