We are honored to highlight that the short film Two People Exchanging Saliva, beautifully shot by cinematographer Alexandra De Saint Blanquat, has won the Oscar for Live Action Short Film at the 2026 Academy Awards. Directed by Alexandre Singh and Natalie Musteata and produced by Misia Films, the film unfolds in a strange dystopian world where a simple kiss is considered a crime punishable by death, and where everyday interactions are sealed not with affection but with a slap. At the center of the story is Angine, a disillusioned woman who becomes fascinated with a salesgirl in a department store. As their secret connection deepens, suspicion begins to grow around them, pushing their forbidden attraction toward an increasingly absurd and tragic fate. The cast includes Zar Amir Ebrahimi, Luana Bajrami, and Aurélie Boquien, with Vicky Krieps as the mysterious narrator.
