We are pleased to welcome cinematographer Alina Albrecht to our roster.

Alina Albrecht is a Berlin-based German cinematographer who grew up surrounded by images, having been raised in her father’s photography studio in Hamburg. From an early age, she developed a strong instinct for framing, light, and composition, which naturally led her toward cinematography.

She began her career with an internship at a Berlin production company before joining the camera department and later studying cinematography at the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin, where she earned a master’s degree.

In 2023, shortly after graduating, Alina was invited by director Till Franzen, with whom she had previously collaborated as a B-camera operator, to serve as director of photography on his next project, a two-part feature-length film. This collaboration marked a decisive step in her transition to leading projects as a cinematographer.

Among her most notable works is A Body Like Mine, directed by Maja Classen, an award-winning documentary that received international recognition at festivals including Hot Docs, Doc.Berlin, BFI Flare, and Ghent Viewpoint.

As an experienced drone operator, Alina explores aerial cinematography as a fully-fledged narrative tool, expanding visual storytelling through new perspectives. Her work is driven by a balance between technical precision and emotional truth, with a strong influence from French cinema, particularly the films of Claire Denis.
