We are delighted to welcome cinematographer Eva Sehet to the Operandi team.
Eva Sehet’s journey as a cinematographer blends a traditional academic path with transformative experiences that shaped her career and artistic vision. After studying at INSAS and La Fémis, preceded by preparatory classes at Ciné-Sup in Nantes, she followed a conventional trajectory in film education. However, a pivotal internship in Mali at the age of 18, arranged through a unique partnership at Ciné-Sup, left a lasting impact on her.
Eva Sehet’s career spans an impressive range of documentaries, short films, and feature projects, reflecting her evolving storytelling approach. Her co-directed documentary Les Enfants de la Patrie (2018), exploring Kanak independence, marked a turning point in shaping her artistic perspective. She also served as director of photography on the feature film Mica (2019) and contributed to several award-winning short films.
Notable highlights include Zenith by Camille Tomatala (Best Film, Dumbo Film Festival 2020), La Petite by Gehanne Khalfallah (UniFrance Short Film Prize 2020 | Best Short Film & UNIMED Award, MedFilm Festival 2020), Kaolin by Corentin Lemetayer Le Brize (Schools’ Prize, Brest Short Film Festival 2020 | Childhood Prize, Un Poing C’est Court Festival 2021), and Le Jour Où J’étais Perdu by Soufiane Adel (Best Fiction Short, Sharjah Film Platform 2023).
Eva balances her love for documentary filmmaking-valued for its authenticity and cultural encounters—with a methodical approach to fiction. She collaborates closely with directors, creates visual references, and develops precise LUTs for her projects. Recent highlights include Reprise en Main (2023), Un Monde Violent (releasing January 2025), and La Maison du Vent (2025).
Her work reflects a deep engagement with storytelling, culture, and the art of crafting unique visual worlds.
