We are delighted to welcome director of photography Léo Hinstin, AFC, to our agency.
First recognized for L’amour Fou, acclaimed at the 2010 Toronto Film Festival and nominated for a César for best documentary. The following year, Nana won the Golden Leopard for Best First Film at the Locarno Festival.
He signed the images of Cédric Jimenez’s Aux Yeux De Tous. Noticed by the Dowdle brothers, he shot two films with them: Catacombs, produced by Legendary Pictures, and the successful action thriller No Escape, produced by Bold Films.
Back in France, Léo Hinstin was able to work on Bertrand Bonnello‘s Nocturama, Nicolas Saada’s Taj Mahal and Under The Eiffel Tower.
Léo meets Sylvie Verheyde and shoots Madame Claude, Stella Est Amoureuse (Locarno Festival 2021) and most recently with Nudes, an Amazon / Wild Bunch TV series scheduled for early 2024.
He followed this up with Lisa Azuelos‘ I Love America and Robert Morgan’s Stopmotion, which won Best Director at the Austin Fantastic Fest 2023 and the Special Jury Prize at the Sitges Fantastic Film Festival 2023. A few months later, Léo films Wake Up, directed by the Canadian trio Roadkill Superstars. Both films will be released in 2024.
He is also preparing Rohit Karn Batra’s second feature, The Gun On 2nd Street, a neo-noir film set in 2024.
