We are pleased to welcome cinematographer Nicolas Petris to our roster.

Nicolas grew up in Marseille and studied visual arts at the University of Aix-en-Provence. Passionate about cinema and analog photography, he discovered filmmaking after being invited to help in the camera department on a 16mm student short film, quickly developing a strong interest in the craft.

With no prior connections in the film industry, Nicolas built his path through determination, starting with an internship at Panavision Marseille before landing his first on-set experience on the feature film Gomes & Tavares.

After realizing production management was not the direction he wanted to pursue, Nicolas moved into the camera department through his encounter with first assistant camera Olivier Gréco. He then spent several years working as a second assistant camera while gradually developing his career as a cinematographer.

Based in Paris since 2009, Nicolas has built his career across commercials, music videos, and fiction, collaborating with filmmakers such as Julien Despaux and Frédéric Balekdjian. His work includes the series Paris 1900, Ourika, produced by Booba and directed by Julien Despaux, as well as Le Charles in 2026.

Influenced by his background in analog photography, Nicolas brings a strong attention to light, texture, and composition, always approaching cinematography as a way to serve the story with precision and sensitivity.
