We’re thrilled to announce that the film Les Aigles de la République, with cinematography by Pierre Aïm, AFC, has been selected for the official 2025 Toronto International Film Festival lineup in the Centrepiece category. Directed by Tarik Saleh and produced by Memento Production, the story follows George El-Nabawi, once celebrated as the golden face of Egyptian cinema, whose spectacular fall from grace lands him the role of President Al-Sissi in a state-commissioned biopic. As George immerses himself in the part, he becomes entangled in a regime where fiction and reality dangerously overlap. It soon becomes clear that he is not merely acting, he is caught in a high-stakes political game where every move could be perilous. The film features a powerful ensemble including Fares Fares, Lyna Khoudri, Zineb Triki, Amr Waked, and Cherien Dabis.
