Todo Es Cárcel, beautifully shot by cinematographer Jimmy Gimferrer, has been awarded the Grand Prix at the FIDMarseille. Directed by Eloy Enciso Cachafeiro and produced by Filmika Galaika and Umbracle Cinema, the film explores the erased history of the Francoist concentration camps in post–Spanish Civil War Spain. Rather than adopting the conventions of documentary filmmaking, it intertwines fiction and memory through the journey of Elsa, an artist researching the camps, whose investigation becomes deeply entangled with her own family history.
