La Comtesse de Monte-Cristo, with cinematography by Céline Bozon, AFC, alongside Danny Elsen, will be presented in preview at the 2026 Festival de la Fiction de La Rochelle. The series will screen on Thursday, September 17 at 9:00 PM at La Coursive – Grand Théâtre, in the presence of the film team. Directed by Djibril Glissant and Leonardo D’Antoni and produced by Itinéraire Productions and Bahia Blanca, the eight-part series offers a new perspective on Alexandre Dumas’ classic story, placing Mercédès Herrera at its centre. In Marseille in 1815, her future with Edmond Dantès is shattered when he is betrayed, falsely accused and imprisoned at the Château d’If. After her attempts to save him end in tragedy, Mercédès turns her grief into a determination to take revenge on those responsible for destroying their lives.
