We are pleased to share that the film Hanami, captured by cinematographer Alana Mejía González, has won two significant awards at the 77th Locarno Film Festival. Denise Fernandes received the Best Emerging Director award in the Cineasti del Presente category, and the film also received a Special Mention in the First Feature competition. Produced by Alina Film, O Som e a Fúria, and RSI Radiotelevisione Svizzera, this enthralling film is set on a distant volcanic island where everyone desires to leave, yet young Nana learns the importance of staying. The cast includes Sanaya Andrade, Daílma Mendes, Alice Da Luz, Nha Nha Rodrigues, and Yuta.
