We are pleased to welcome cinematographer Sarah Blum, AFC to our roster.

A Franco-German director of photography based in Paris, Sarah grew up between Berlin and the south of France before studying cinematography at INSAS in Brussels. She began her career in the camera department before moving into cinematography across short films, art films and documentaries.

Her collaborations with filmmaker Alice Diop include Vers la Tendresse, winner of the César for Best Short Film in 2017, and Nous, awarded twice at the Berlinale in 2021. Her recent fiction credits include Vladimir Perišić’s Lost Country, Annemarie Jacir’s Palestine 36, and the upcoming Glenn Gould Lovers.

Working across French, German and English-speaking productions, Sarah is drawn to light, texture and movement. Her framing is both organic and choreographed, with a strong connection to actors and a taste for images rich in contrast and texture.

For Sarah, every film develops through close collaboration with the director and the wider creative team, with constraints often becoming a source of new visual possibilities.
